Going Retro

The Utah Jazz announced Tuesday that the team will turn back the clock on Thursday night vs. the Miami Heat, when they will sport retro jerseys from the 1979-80 season, the year the team moved to Salt Lake City.

The team is scheduled for six retro nights during the 2003-04 season, with four games at home and two on the road. The four home games will include this Thursday’s contest with Miami, followed by the February 4 game vs. the Chicago Bulls, March 5 vs. Indiana and the March 31 contest vs. the New Orleans Hornets. The two road games are scheduled for January 19 at Golden State in the lone TNT game of the season for the Jazz and March 20 at Atlanta.

On Thursday night’s contest vs. the Heat, the first 5,000 fans through the door will receive a retro T-Shirt, while the concession stands will feature dollar deals on popcorn, pretzels, soda and French fries.

Entertainment in the arena will also be old-school, as the Jazz dancers, music and the Bear will celebrate the first 25 years the Jazz have been in Utah.
