KJZZ 14 will air the show at 8 p.m. on Tuesday with rebroadcasts at 9 p.m. on Saturday, March 29 and Saturday, April 5.

KJZZ broadcasts on channel 14 over the air and for Dish and DirecTV subscribers and on Comcast channels 3 (SD) and 657 (HD).

The “You Gotta Have Heart” show will feature studio interviews with former head coach Frank Layden and 1983-84 Jazzmen Darrell Griffith, Mark Eaton and Jerry Eaves as well as highlights from the team recognition during the Jazz game against the Orlando Magic at EnergySolutions Arena. Two members of the Jazz broadcast team – former assistant coach Phil Johnson and rookie forward Thurl Bailey -- will also provide insights as members of the 1983-84 squad.

The 1983-84 team compiled a 45-37 record, winning the Midwest Division and a first round playoff series over the Denver Nuggets. The Jazz became the first NBA team to have four separate players win league statistical crowns that season (Adrian Dantley, scoring; Mark Eaton, blocks; Darrell Griffith, three-point percentage; Rickey Green, steals), while head coach Frank Layden earned both Coach of the Year honors as well as Executive of the Year.

The special is the final of six programs airing on KJZZ during the 2013-14 season with contributions from the Jazz broadcasting team – featuring Craig Bolerjack, Matt Harpring, Alema Harrington, David Locke, Ron Boone, Steve Brown, Johnson and Bailey. Previous shows featured a tribute to the Hall of Fame career of former Jazz head coach Jerry Sloan, a profile on head coach Tyrone Corbin and his participation in the NBA’s “Basketball Without Borders” camp, and a “Season Of Giving” program on efforts by the Jazz and Larry H. Miller Group of Companies to assist the community during the holidays.
