Jazz Unveils New Website with Responsive Design

SALT LAKE CITY (May 20, 2014) – The Utah Jazz is among the initial 15 NBA teams to unveil a new responsive website design at www.utahjazz.com as NBA Digital is in the process of redesigning all 30 team websites. Additional NBA sites will be revealed in the coming weeks, making the NBA the first professional sports league featuring leaguewide responsive team sites.

Working closely with teams on a dynamic design and optimized functionality, the new Utah Jazz team website provides fans with a seamless and consistent experience to access team news, extensive video highlights, player features and more, across desktop, tablet and mobile devices.

“The Jazz recognizes the mobile nature of today’s fans, and this new website design provides an optimal viewing experience with easy reading and navigation across a variety of devices,” said Craig Sanders, senior vice president of marketing for Miller Sports Properties. “Improved accessibility to video, photos, information and social media posts will make it easier for our fans to connect with our players and franchise.”

Overall, the new Jazz site enhances the usability, performance and capability of the league’s team sites across all devices with a mobile-first approach.  During the 2013-14 regular season, record mobile and tablet visits accounted for more than 60 percent of total visits to NBA digital platforms.

“As our fans and industry increasingly place more emphasis on mobile consumption, our redesigned sites will best position us to serve our content across all platforms,” said Christina Miller, senior vice president and general manager of NBA Digital.  “We’re proud to be the first league to offer team sites with fully responsive design.  These sites offer each team the flexibility to customize and engage their individual fan bases in a dynamic way.”

New site features include a highly visual display allowing fans to engage with compelling content across all devices. Throughout the year, the Jazz will be able to customize the site to tell the team’s unique story directly to fans across all platforms. With video prominently displayed on the home page, the new site will also feature in-depth team coverage, an enhanced photo gallery, and a curated feed of the most relevant social media posts from Twitter, Facebook, Google+ and Instagram.

NBA Digital is the NBA's extensive cross-platform portfolio of digital assets jointly managed by the NBA and Turner Sports which includes NBA TV, NBA.com, NBA LEAGUE PASS, NBA LEAGUE PASS Broadband, NBA Mobile, NBADLEAGUE.com, and WNBA.com.
