FOX SPORTS NET ANNOUNCES
2001-02 UTAH JAZZ TELECAST SCHEDULE
Fox Sports Net (FSN) renewed a long-term contract with the Utah Jazz to air regular season games on FSN's regional cable network, it was announced Friday, August 31 by Tim Griggs, Fox Sports Net Rocky Mountain Vice President/General Manager and Randy Rigby, Utah Jazz Vice President of Broadcasting. A total of 25 games during the 2001-02 regular season will be shown on FSN in Utah, Montana, southern Idaho, western Wyoming and northeastern Nevada.
"Jazz basketball is one of the most exciting in professional sports and we're proud to make them available to fans throughout the Rocky Mountain region over the next several years," said Griggs.
Fox Sports Net's coverage consists of nine home games and 16 away contests, beginning with the Monday, November 12 game vs. Orlando at 7:00 p.m. from the Delta Center. All 25 games will be produced by the Utah Jazz and include a 30-minute pre-game show and a post-game show.
Returning for his 28th season as play-by-play announcer is "Hot" Rod Hundley. Also returning to the broadcast is game analyst Ron Boone, in his 13th season working Jazz radio and TV simulcasts with Hundley.
Of the 82 regular season Jazz games, 25 will be shown on FSN and 40 air on KJZZ-TV.
FSN Rocky Mountain, which was previously Prime Sports Network from 1989 to 1996, enters its 13th season as the local cable TV partner of the Utah Jazz. Fox Sports Net is America's first truly national, regional and local supplier of sports programming, and reaches more than 74 million homes through its combined 21 regional networks. FSN also is the regional television rights-holder to 22 of 27 U.S.-based NBA teams.
