Salt Lake City, UT – The Utah Jazz have traded
Carlos Arroyo to the Detroit Pistons in exchange for
Elden Campbell and a future
first-round draft pick available to the Jazz in 2006, it was announced today by
Senior Vice President of Basketball Operations, Kevin O’Connor.
Arroyo has seen action in 30 games with the Jazz this
season and has averaged 8.2 points, 5.1 assists and 1.5 rebounds in 24.7 minutes
per game. Arroyo missed the first six games of the 2004-05 season with a
sprained left ankle. Not drafted by an NBA team, Arroyo has played four seasons
in the NBA and has played in 182 games including 88 starts and has averaged 7.6
points, 3.5 assists and 18.7 minutes per game.
Campbell joins the Jazz after playing in 21 games for the
Pistons this season and has averaged 4.2 points and 2.8 rebounds in 10.2 minutes
per game. Originally drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers in 1990 NBA Draft (27th
pick overall), Campbell as played in 1,025 games and has averaged 10.5 points
and 5.9 rebounds in 25.0 minutes per game. Now in his 15th NBA
season Campbell has played for the Lakers, the Hornets, the Sonics and the
Pistons.
