Jazz agree to terms with Carlos Arroyo

September 10, 2002 -- Vice President of Basketball Operations, Kevin O'Connor, announced today that the Jazz have reached an agreement in principle with free agent guard Carlos Arroyo. Arroyo will arrive in Salt Lake City on Thursday for a physical and pending successful completion of his physical examination, he will sign his contract Thursday evening or Friday morning.


Arroyo
Arroyo played in 37 games during the 2001-02 season (17 with Toronto and 20 with Denver) and averaged 3.0 points and 1.9 assists per game. He also played for the Nuggets in the 2002 Rocky Mountain Revue where he averaged 6.2 points, 3.0 assists and 1.0 rebounds in 18 minutes.

Most recently Arroyo played in the 2002 World Championships in Indianapolis and averaged 11.6 points and 6.4 assists in 27.9 minutes in eight games and led Puerto Rico to a seventh place finish.
