SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH (February 21, 2006) – Utah Jazz Senior Vice President of Basketball Operations, Kevin O’Connor, announced today that Jazz guard Andre Owens will undergo surgery on his left tibia to place a rod in his tibia on Thursday, February 23.

The surgery will be performed by Dr. John Edwards and Dr. Lyle Mason at Lakeview Hospital in Bountiful, Utah. Owens will be out for the remainder of the 2005-06 season.

Owens played in 23 games this season for the Jazz and averaged 3.0 points in 9.1 minutes per game.
