The following update on Utah Jazz forward Carlos Boozer was given
today by Jazz team orthopedist, Dr. Lyle Mason:
“Carlos showed up to training camp in great condition after undergoing
extensive, difficult training over the offseason in order to get back
for this season. He went through two-a-days without any problems, but
pulled his left hamstring during a warm-up session in training camp on
October 6 while just jogging.
He underwent an MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) scan that showed a minor
injury, and he rehabbed and worked hard to get back on the court. During
this time, he felt a couple of tweaks along the way, but made good progress
and had reached the point where he was ready to resume practice.
Statement from Kevin O’Connor, Sr. Vice President of Basketball
Operations:
“To have someone work this hard over the summer, come in and be
our best player in two-a-days and training camp, and have an injury like
this re-occur is certainly disappointing for us, and discouraging for
Carlos. Carlos did everything we asked him to do over the offseason and
more, as evidenced by him coming to camp at six percent body fat and 275
pounds. It is much easier to work during the season than the offseason.
We were excited about Carlos and still are.” |
