Jazz Clinch Northwest Division Title

The Utah Jazz earned their 47th victory of the season on Wednesday, Mar. 28 2007 and captured the 2007 Northwest Division title as the Denver Nuggets fell to the Seattle SuperSonics.  The Jazz clinched a spot in the 2007 NBA Playoffs on Sunday, March 25.

Utah has earned seven division titles in franchise history, the most recent one coming in the 1999-2000 season when they finished with a record of 55-27.  In 1983-84 they earned their first division title when they posted their first ever winning season at 45-37.  Other division titles include the 1988-89 season (51-31), the 1991-92 season (55-27), the 1996-97 season (64-18), and the 1997-98 season (62-20).

The Jazz are the third winningest team in the NBA since the start of the 1994-95 season trailing only San Antonio and the Los Angeles Lakers.  Guaranteed of finishing with a winning record, the 2006-07 season will mark the 23rd time in the last 24 seasons that the Jazz have finished .500 or better.
