Utah Jazz October 31 Home Opener to Celebrate Halloween
SALT LAKE CITY (October 30, 2012) – In celebration of the start of the 2012-13 NBA season, the Utah Jazz is hosting a bevy of pre-game and opening night activities, presented by Utah Toyota Dealers. Game tipoff is at 7 p.m. as the Jazz take on the Dallas Mavericks.
With opening night falling on Halloween, fans are encouraged to come in costume and party on the plaza. Trunk-or-Treating kicks-off at 5 p.m.
Also beginning at 5 p.m., the first 500 guests to arrive in costume will receive one free ticket voucher for the opening night game.
The 100 best costumes on the plaza at 6 p.m. will receive two free game tickets for the home opener and also be invited onto the court at halftime where winners will be selected in one of two costume categories: adult and child (12 years and younger.)
The first-place adult costume will win $1000 cash, four VIP dinner and game tickets to the Saturday, November 10 game against the Phoenix Suns and an autographed Utah Jazz team basketball. The second place winner will receive a $200 Fanzz gift card and an autographed Utah Jazz player jersey. The third place winner will receive a $100 Fanzz gift card.
The first-place winner in the children’s category will receive a Disney on Ice suite for up to 18 guests on Thursday, November 15 at 7 p.m. at EnergySolutions Arena and also an autographed Utah Jazz team basketball. The second place winner will receive a $200 Fanzz gift card and an autographed Utah Jazz team basketball. The third place winner will receive a $100 Fanzz gift card.
Between 4:30 and 6 p.m., the first 100 guests to bring a carved, Utah Jazz-themed pumpkin will receive one free ticket voucher for that night’s game. The first-place winner of the pumpkin-carving contest will receive a 42-inch HDTV. Second place will receive a $100 Fanzz gift card, and third place will receive a $50 Fanzz gift card.

Fans attending the game will be greeted by members of Jazz management on the main concourse. The management team includes team owner Gail Miller, CEO Greg Miller, Jazz President Randy Rigby, and others.
Fans will also receive a magnetic schedule upon entering and a fireworks show will take place prior to player introductions. Tickets start at just $14 (including a hot dog), and select beverages will be specially priced at just $3 on opening night.
- Please plan to remove any masks or hoods as you enter EnergySolutions Arena and go through the bag check area. You may put your mask/hood back on once inside.
- Please be sure that your costume fits comfortably within your single-seat area.
- Please do not wear hats/headwear or other costume elements that could block the view of anyone seated near you.
- Please no toy guns.
- Please no sticks/swords/light sabers/bayonets etc. more than 18” long inside EnergySolutions Arena.
- Please practice good judgment when choosing a costume.
- Please remember that Jazz games are family-oriented events and children of all ages will be in attendance.
