Three Jazz Players Selected to Participate in
USA Basketball Mini-Camp

SALT LAKE CITY (June 25, 2009) – USA Basketball Chairman Jerry Colangelo announced today that Utah Jazz players Ronnie Brewer, Kyle Korver and Paul Millsap have been selected as three of the 25 top rising NBA players chosen to participate in the 2009 USA Basketball Men’s National Team mini-camp that will be held July 22-25 in Las Vegas. Previously, USA Basketball also announced that Jazz assistant coach Tyrone Corbin would join Toronto Raptors head coach Jay Triano, Detroit Pistons assistant Dave Cowens, former New Orleans Hornets assistant Kenny Gattison, and Minnesota Timberwolves assistant Jerry Sichting on the coaching staff for the mini-camp.Ronnie Brewer

Brewer, who will enter his fourth season with the Jazz, set career-highs in all major categories in 2008-09, averaging 13.7 points, 3.7 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.7 steals per game as Utah’s starting shooting guard. The former Arkansas Razorback ranked sixth in the league in steals (1.66) and fourth in steal-to-turnover ratio (1.25-to-1). Brewer also tied a team-high with 60 games of double-digit scoring.

Korver, most recently finished his first full season with the Jazz, appearing in 78 games (2 starts) averaging 9.0 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game. The six-year NBA veteran made a team-high 103 three-point field goals in 2008-09, shooting .386 percent from behind the arc.

Millsap, who finished fourth in voting for the league’s Most Improved Player award, had a career season in 2008-09, appearing in 76 games (38 starts) averaging 13.5 points, 8.6 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 30.1 minutes. The 6-8 forward also collected 19-straight double-doubles this past season, the longest streak in the NBA since 2006. He finished the season with 29 overall.
