This Day in Jazz History - May 17, 1994

by Bill Lea

The Jazz had four players record double-doubles in game 5 of the conference semifinals but it wasn’t enough as the Nuggets beat the Jazz 109-101 in double overtime. In a possible series-clinching game for the #5-seed Jazz, the #8-seed Nuggets stayed alive behind 22 points from Bryant Stith and seven blocks from Dikembe Mutombo. The Jazz would go on to win the series in seven games but lost to eventual champion Houston in the conference finals in five games.
