JAZZ: Stacey Bio

What is your favorite book? Why? East of Eden by John Steinbeck. It was different than any other book I’ve ever read. It has so many characters and it was just very intriguing to read.

Who was your favorite teacher? Why? Mr. Loose, my 11^th grade history teacher. He was my favorite teacher because you could tell he loved teaching and loved history. I was never bored in class, and he made me grow to love history which is now my major. He loved teaching which made every class more enjoyable.

What are your hobbies? Tennis, reading, dancing, traveling, boating/tubing

How long have you been dancing? Since I was three years old and this is my second year as a Nu Skin Jazz Dancer.

Why did you want to be a Jazz Dancer? Because dancing is my passion and something I want to do for a long time. Also, I’ve been a huge fan of the Jazz since I was young.

What do you do to stay healthy – inside and out? I try to make my life healthy by not just working out and eating right, but spending time with my family, getting an education, and sleeping a lot!!!

Where did you go to high school? Lone Peak High School

College? Brigham Young University

What do you want to do after your Jazz Dancer career is finished? Become a high school history teacher. Get married and have a big family.

What’s the best advice you ever received? Do everything to the fullest. It takes just as much energy to do something half-heartedly as it does to do it all the way.

What has been your most embarrassing moment as a Dancer? I was at my first high school drill team competition and we were doing a prop dance with huge water barrels. At one point we have to walk on them, and another girl’s barrel ran into mine and I flew off and landed on my back on the barrel and then I flew on the ground. The whole audience gasped and I was mortified.
