used by the Nu Skin Jazz Dancers. These clinics are under
the direction of Jan Whittaker, director and choreographer of the
Utah Jazz These clinics will provide an exposure to a variety of dance/cheer styles and techniques, including Hip-Hop, Lyrical Jazz, Character Jazz, L.A. and New York style jazz, military and ballet technique. The clinics will also provide a critique session for those teams or individuals interested in performing an original routine. The Utah Jazz Stunt Team is proud to be a part of the Jazz Dancer Clinic this year. They will be teaching cheer technique, jumps, tumbling, cheer routines, and stunt and safety classes for all levels. These clinics provide a perfect opportunity to prepare for Utah Jazz Dancer or Stunt Team auditions to be held during this summer.
• Fee for the senior clinic is $125 per person if enrolled by May 15th, $140 if enrolled after May 15th. Fee for the junior clinic is $110 if enrolled before May 15th, $125 if enrolled after May 15th. Instructors enrolling 10 or more students are invited to attend a clinic free of charge. • Fee includes three days of dance instruction, clinic T-shirt, Jazz Dancer CD and the opportunity to be chosen to perform at a Utah Jazz game. (optional: lunches will be available to purchase for $5, provided by the high school drill teams.) • T-shirts and CD’s only guaranteed to those that pre-register • Awards will be given to reward enthusiastic participation, improvement, dedication and teamwork. • All participants must have a signed copy of the enclosed waiver form. Please copy the waiver form for multiple entries.
Team-studio competition Teams or studios can perform a routine to compete for the opportunity to perform at a Utah Jazz Game - senior groups 12 or more participants attending camp, junior groups 20 or more participants attending camp. In addition to the Team Competition, approximately 50 individual dancers will be chosen from among participants in all clinics to perform at a Utah Jazz game.
