| When
you attend Jazz games, you can always expect to see dynamic dunks and
furious fast breaks, but there is always one other constant that remains
in tact, the Nu Skin Jazz Dancers. Since the start of the 1992-93 season,
the Nu Skin Jazz Dancers, have been featured at every home game performing
energetic routines of jazz, lyrical, funk and character-type dance.
The Jazz Dancers are made up of 18 members from all over the state of Utah, Idaho and Texas with a wealth of dancing experience and a wide-variety of career goals and interests. Nu Skin Jazz Dancers practice three times a week, with each rehearsal lasting three hours under the direction of choreographer Jan Whittaker. They also practice for one hour prior to each home game. However, dancing is only one phase of being part of the Nu Skin Jazz Dancers, as community and charity appearances are also part of the agenda. Each December, the Nu Skin Jazz Dancers accompany the Utah Jazz on their yearly visit to Primary Children's Medical Center in Salt Lake City. The Nu Skin Jazz Dancers also take part in school assemblies and various fundraising events along the Wasatch Front. The Nu Skin Jazz Dancers are available year-round for appearances. For information on making the Nu Skin Jazz Dancers a part of your event, fill out this form or call Jan Whittaker (801) 325-2588. |
