Larry H. Miller Youth Scholarship Presented at NAACP Luncheon
Jay Francis, executive vice president of corporate affairs and Miller family philanthropy, presented the 2013 Larry H. Miller Youth Scholarship during a luncheon held in January on Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The luncheon was hosted by the NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People) Salt Lake Branch and has become an annual event supported by the Utah Jazz.
Francis read a brief biographical sketch of the winner, Meagan Hudson, before presenting her with an engraved silver bowl. He was joined in the presentation by the branch’s president, Jeanetta Williams. The Utah Jazz has sponsored scholarships in conjunction with the NAACP for the past 15 years. Scholarship funding has been provided by Larry H. Miller Charities.
