Miller Charities will host their annual fundraising gala, Leapin’ Leaners & Low Tops, on Wednesday, March 18 at 6 p.m. Held on the EnergySolutionsArena basketball court, this unique event allows fans an opportunity to personally interact with Jazz players and coaches while raising money for charity.

Family Support Center Assisted by Friends of the Utah Jazz
As part of its community outreach efforts, the Utah Jazz has collaborated with Friends of the Utah Jazz to aid nonprofit charitable organizations in the local community. Throughout the season, each time Jazz players log an assist $20 will be donated to a specific charity on a monthly basis.

Jazz Presents Larry H. Miller Youth Scholarship at NAACP Luncheon
The Utah Jazz, in conjunction with the NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People), recently presented college student Quinci Hambrick with the Larry H. Miller Youth Scholarship. NAACP Martin Luther King Day luncheon held in mid January.

Jr. Jazz - a legacy of youth basketball, 2008-09
Jr. Jazz, the longest-running youth basketball league in the NBA, has been shaping the face of local amateur sports since 1983. Beginning with only 7,133 participants, this popular program has grown to impact the lives of 50,000 to 60,000 youth annually.

Utah Jazz Players and Coaches Visit Local Hospitalized Children
Eyes lit up and smiles soon followed, as Jazz players walked down hallways, stopped by rooms and greeted children at bedside. Small basketballs were personally autographed as the athletes posed for photos and visited with patients and their families. Players at Shriners Hospital also met with patients in the children’s recreation area to shoot basketballs.

Utah Jazz Bear Takes Nearly 400 Kids Shopping for Christmas
The Utah Jazz mascot, Bear, will take children on a holiday shopping excursion in Lehi on Saturday, December 6, in Salt Lake City on Saturday, December 13 and in Manti on Friday, December 19. The event, sponsored by American Family Insurance, and Firemen & Friends for Kids, gives underprivileged youth the opportunity to purchase items for themselves and their families.

Williams’ Point of Hope Foundation Aids Local Families
Deron Williams brightened the holidays for several families in need this year with a Christmas celebration made possible through his Point of Hope Foundation. Sixty guests, consisting of single mothers and their children, dined at Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse in early December with Williams and his family.

Korvers Coat Drive November 7th, 2008
Korver’s current humanitarian efforts are focused on providing winter coats to homeless and underprivileged individuals and families in the Salt Lake area. As part of that effort, Korver and the Utah Jazz will sponsor a coat drive at the Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Utah Jazz game on Friday, November 7, 2008. Coats will be donated to the Utah Dream Center and Head Start.

1320 KFAN and Utah Jazz To Host Collection Drive for Utah Food Bank
1320 KFAN and the Utah Jazz will host a collection drive for the Utah Food Bank on Wednesday, October 22 at Karl Malone Toyota located at 11453 South Lone Peak Parkway in Draper, Utah. Fans donating a bag of non- perishable food will receive one complimentary Utah Jazz ticket for the October 23rd game versus the Portland Trailblazers.

KYLE KORVER SET TO ATTEMPT GUINNESS WORLD RECORD
Utah Jazz forward Kyle Korver will participate in a fundraiser on September 19 in an attempt to set the Guinness World Record for the longest kickball game ever played.
The Kyle Korver Foundation is sponsoring the 25-hour kickball game marathon with the goal of raising $10,000 for the Helping Hand Rescue Mission in North Philadelphia. Korver, entering his sixth NBA season, has worked closely with the Mission and the underprivileged kids in the surrounding community for over two years.

Kyle Korver was in India for Basketball Without Borders
Early this week, NBA players including Kyle Korver (Utah Jazz), Ronny Turiaf (L.A. Lakers), Pat Garrity (Orlando Magic), and Linton Johnson (Phoenix Suns) as well as a team of NBA coaches arrived in New Delhi, India to participate in the NBA’s first event in India when Basketball without Borders Asia tips off at the American Embassy School of New Delhi July 3-6.
