Williams’ Point of Hope Foundation Aids Families During Holidays

Deron Williams Holiday Dinner

Since 2007, Deron Williams has brightened the holidays for families in need through a Christmas celebration made possible by his Point of Hope Foundation.  This year Williams and his family dined with sixty guests, consisting of single mothers and their children, at Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse in early December.  Participants were selected through Seven Still Waters, a nonprofit that assists underprivileged youth.

Williams mingled and posed for photos with guests as they arrived to a room filled with a generous supply of festively wrapped packages.  At the end of the evening, excited children opened presents of toys and clothing, and mothers received something as well.  Families left laden with gifts and filled with the spirit of Christmas.

Williams’ Point of Hope Foundation focuses on improving the quality of life for families and children.  In addition to helping families during the holidays, the foundation has donated school supplies and tickets to Jazz games and has also provided Thanksgiving dinner for the homeless.  Groups that have received monetary contributions include organizations such as the Carmen B. Pingree School for Children With Autism, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and Huntsman Cancer Institute
