Utah Jazz to Host Thanksgiving Celebration for Homeless
Deron Williams Point of Hope Foundation to Donate 1,500 Meals
SALT LAKE CITY (November 20, 2008) -On Tuesday, November 25, the Utah Jazz will host We Care – We Share, a Thanksgiving dinner celebration for Salt Lake’s homeless and low-income population. The event is produced in conjunction with Salt Lake Mission, EnergySolutions Arena, Utah Food Services and the Deron Williams Point of Hope Foundation. Dinner will be held on the main concourse of EnergySolutions Arena from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Deron Williams, Jazz front office staff, coaches’ wives and players’ wives are scheduled to serve.
More than 2,800 meals were provided to individuals in need last year and over 3,000 are anticipated at this year’s event. The Point of Hope Foundation is donating 1,500 meals. Salt Lake Mission will provide attendees with transportation, a selection of warm clothing and musical entertainment during dinner.
