Utah Jazz Announces 2011-12 Regular Season Schedule

Jazz to open at home for first time in two seasons; road opener November 5 at Houston

SALT LAKE CITY (July 19, 2011) – The Utah Jazz announced today the team’s 2011-12 regular season schedule.  The Jazz will tip off the 2011-12 campaign at EnergySolutions Arena against Western Conference rival Houston Rockets on November 1.  Utah’s road opener comes four days later when the Jazz travels to Houston to face the Rockets again on November 5 to start a five-game road trip.

The first game against Houston will mark the third time in Jazz franchise history that the Jazz and Rockets have faced each other in the season opener, with all three occurrences coming in Salt Lake City.  The Jazz and Rockets also began the 1985-86 and 2006-07 seasons against each other.

Utah is scheduled to appear on national television 10 times overall during the 2011-12 campaign, including one TNT broadcast (1/19 vs. Dallas), three ESPN broadcasts (12/14 vs. Golden State, 2/3 at Denver and 2/10 vs. Oklahoma City) and six NBA TV broadcasts (11/26 at Golden State, 12/21 at New York, 1/5 vs. Memphis, 1/14 vs. New Jersey, 3/7 at Washington and 4/14 at Memphis). The Jazz’s local television broadcast schedule will be released at a later date.

The Jazz will play all Eastern Conference teams twice each and Western Conference teams four times each, with the exception of four Western Conference teams they will face just three times. The four teams include: Dallas and L.A Lakers (two home, one road), and New Orleans and Sacramento (one home, two road).

Utah’s month-by-month break down includes 15 games in November (six home, nine road), 15 games in December (seven home, eight road), 13 games in January (10 home, 3 road), 12 games in February (seven home, five road), 19 games in March (seven home, 12 road) and eight games in April (four home, four road).

The schedule features 17 back-to-back sets (three– away/home, 10 – away/away, four – home/away). The Jazz will also face three road trips of five games each.

Other games of note include two home games with both the World Champion Dallas Mavericks (1/19, 4/16) and Los Angeles Lakers (12/2, 1/17), while the Eastern Conference Champion Miami Heat (3/2), Chicago Bulls (11/21) and Sacramento Kings will each make just one appearance in Salt Lake City.

2011-12 season ticket packages are currently available for purchase. Mini-packages will be available for purchase beginning on Monday, August 1.
