Best Supporting Actor
Russell Westbrook
In a closely contested battle which also featured other nominees are Dwyane Wade, Tyson Chandler, and Blake Griffin, Russell Westbrook has been handed the award for best actor – um, player – in a supporting role. It’s not easy playing second fiddle to the league’s best scorer, but Westbrook has taken his job seriously the past few years and has matured as a better passer this season, averaging a career high in assists. He still plays the star role from time to time, and it is the chemistry between the Thunder’s co-stars that has given OKC the second-best record in the league. Special guest Scottie Pippen – the greatest supporting actor of all time – would be in the house to hand this award.
