Garnett first made history when he became the first player in 20 years to go from high school to the NBA when he was drafted with the No. 5 pick of the 1995 NBA Draft by the struggling Minnesota Timberwolves. Speaking on his unique talent, Timberwolves Vice President of Basketball Operations Kevin McHale had said, “Kevin Garnett is not a small forward, he's not a forward, he's not a center. He's a basketball player. Those are the kind of guys you like. I couldn't think of anybody else in the draft I'd rather have on my team.”
