Bobcats Renew Founding Level Partnership

Bobcats Sports & Entertainment (BSE) President and Chief Operating Officer Fred Whitfield announced today the organization has extended its marketing partnership with Wachovia, a Wells Fargo Company. With the renewal, Wells Fargo becomes the Official Community Partner of the Charlotte Bobcats.
“Wachovia has always been a community leader, and throughout the years this partnership has been a reflection of our shared and mutual commitment to leaving a positive and lasting impact on the Carolinas,” said Whitfield. “Moving forward, that commitment to the community will only be strengthened by the renewal of our partnership and we’re working together to identify more ways in which we can make this a better place in which to live and work.”

Community programs co-sponsored by BSE and Wachovia include the return of the “All-Stars In Achievement” initiative, which rewards outstanding Teach For America teachers in the Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools district with recognition at a home game and a $1,000 donation to their respective schools. Wells Fargo once again supported the “Paint The Town” initiative, which raises awareness around Opening Night and highlights the many ways in which Bobcats players get involved in the community. New for this season was a joint effort to collect gifts at a community event and home game for Toys for Tots for distribution to underserved children throughout the Charlotte area.
In addition to these community programs, the renewal provides Wells Fargo with in-arena marketing and advertising rights, exposure through the team media, and business-building opportunities.

Bobcats Sports & Entertainment operates the Charlotte Bobcats of the National Basketball Association (NBA) and Time Warner Cable Arena, celebrating its fifth anniversary in the heart of uptown Charlotte, North Carolina.
