Bobcats Claim Cory Higgins Off Waivers

Charlotte Bobcats President of Basketball Operations Rod Higgins announced today that the team has claimed guard Cory Higgins off waivers. Higgins was in training camp with the Denver Nuggets prior to joining the Bobcats.
The 6-5 Higgins played collegiately at the University of Colorado from 2007-11 and finished his career tied for Colorado’s all-time scoring lead and ranked sixth in the history of the Big 12 Conference with 2,001 points. He is also the only player in school history to record at least 2,000 points, 500 rebounds, 300 assists and 150 steals in a career.
A three-time All-Big 12 performer, Higgins is Colorado’s career leader in games played (132), games started (131), minutes played (4,478), double-figure scoring games (107) and free throws (570). He ranks third all-time in steals (192), fifth in free throw percentage (.825), sixth in field goals (653), sixth in field goal attempts (1,397), seventh in three-point attempts (360), ninth in three-pointers (125) and 10th in assists (320).
Higgins was the seventh overall pick in the 2011 D-League Draft by the Erie Bayhawks and averaged 12.6 points and 4.2 rebounds in 37.6 minutes in five games prior to joining the Nuggets in training camp.
