THE RESULT
With Head Coach Paul Silas assisting from the sidelines, the Bobcats were hoping to string together their second-straight win with Assistant Coach Stephen Silas calling the shots. The elder Silas opted to let his son take the helm and he nearly helped lead the Bobcats (5-33) to victory before they fell, 83-74, to New Jersey (14-27) on March 9 at Time Warner Cable Arena®.

TURNING POINTS
Charlotte outscored the Nets, 24-21, in the third quarter behind seven points from Corey Maggette and cut the New Jersey lead to 60-59 entering the final frame. Unfortunately, the Bobcats shots went cold to start the fourth as they missed their first seven shots and were held scoreless until the 7:03 mark when Eduardo Najera’s 3-pointer made it 68-62 in the Nets favor. Charlotte strung together a 9-2 run from that point to pull within 70-68 but missed six of their final eight shots as New Jersey secured the win.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
The Bobcats shooting percentage in all facets of the game cost them in this one. Charlotte shot just 34.9 percent (30 of 86) from the field, 18.2 percent (2 of 11) from long range and 57.1 percent (12 of 21) from the charity stripe… The Bobcats struggles on the boards also continued as they were outrebounded, 56-43, but still managed to outscore the Nets 44-38 in the paint and 17-15 in second-chance points.

BOBCATS PLAYERS OF THE GAME
Corey Maggette fell just shy of recording his fourth-straight 20+point game, tallying 19 points on 8-of-16 shooting while bringing down seven rebounds with two steals and two assists.

Bismack Biyombo notched his team-best fourth double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds. It was his second double-double in three games. He also blocked two shots, keeping him atop the rookie rankings in swats per game (1.85).

NETS PLAYER OF THE GAME
Anthony Morrow was invisible for the first three quarters, missing the only shot he took. Morrow came alive late though and totaled 17 points in the decisive fourth quarter, including a 3-pointer from the corner that put New Jersey up 78-70 with 1:14 left to ice the game.

GAME NOTES
Aside from Corey Maggette and Bismack Biyombo, no other Bobcats player scored in double digits, but Eduardo Najera had his best game of 2011-12 with season highs in points (nine) and rebounds (five) in 23 minutes off the bench… Tyrus Thomas was back in the starting lineup for the first time since February 10 against Chicago. He finished with six points and three rebounds in 17 minutes… Kris Humphries scored a game-high 20 points and hauled down a game-high 15 rebounds to lead New Jersey… Deron Williams did not play in the second half for the Nets due to a sore right calf… Gana Diop and Boris Diaw were inactive for Charlotte.
