THE RESULT
Kemba Walker (24 points) and Ramon Sessions (20) led five Bobcats scoring in double figures but Charlotte’s thoughts are with rookie Michael Kidd-Gilchrist following a 109-95 loss on February 2 in Houston. MKG left Toyota Center on a stretcher after the back of his head hit off Jeffery Taylor’s hip in the fourth quarter and was taken to a local hospital for X-rays and observation.

TURNING POINT
Charlotte trailed 81-80 when Michael Kidd-Gilchrist collided with Jeffery Taylor as both tried to defend Toney Douglas on a drive to the basket. Following an extended delay, the Cats were able to take an 86-81 after back-to-back Ben Gordon 3-pointers. However, Charlotte didn’t have an answer for Patrick Patterson, who scored 14 of the Rockets 28 points on their way to the home win.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
The Bobcats outscored the Rockets in the their quarter, 26-17, but could not complete comeback. The Rockets finished shooting 51.2 percent from the floor and 35.0 percent from the 3-point territory…. The Cats scored 41.8 percent from inside the paint and 42.1 percent from the 3-point territory, outscoring the Rockets from outside the paint… The Rockets beat the Bobcats in points in the paint (58-32) and second-chance points (14-4)… The Bobcats defense forced 14 Rockets turnovers, while grabbing six steals and blocking six shots.

Gerald Henderson scored 15 points, Jeffery Taylor added 15 off the bench and Ben Gordon tallied 11 more to round out the Cats double-digit scorers… Byron Mullens (ankle) was inactive.
