THE RESULT
Rookie Michael Kidd-Gilchrist had career-highs in points (25) and rebounds (12), notching his first double-double and Kemba Walker added 26 points and a franchise-tying-best eight steals, as the Cats beat the Mavs 101-97 in an overtime thriller at Time Warner Cable Arena®.

TURNING POINTS
After being down by 15 early in the third quarter, the Cats continuously fought their way back into the game… With four minutes left in the fourth quarter MKG converted on a three-point play to pull the Cats within five points. A Ramon Sessions layup gave the Cats an 85-84 lead after a Kemba Walker steal… The Mavericks fought back and Vince Carter’s 3-pointer and two free-throws by O.J. Mayo put them back up by four with less than 30 seconds on the clock… From that point, the Cats veterans took over as Brendan Haywood got a dunk and the foul which lead to MKG grabbing an offensive rebound on the missed free throw attempt. Sessions made a driving layup to tie the game at 91 with 2.8 seconds left in regulation. The Mavs Vince Carter missed the go-ahead shot and the game went into overtime… The Bobcats grabbed three offensive rebounds in the extra session, including another MKG board off a missed free throw that led to a Mullens dunk. Walker put the Cats up 97-93 with a driving layup with 1:30 to go and MKG and Sessions sealed the deal for the Cats by scoring the last four points at the charity stripe.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
For the first time this season, the Bobcats shot better than their opponent from the field with 42.1 percent to the Mavs 40.5 percent… The Cats also won the rebound battle, 53-43… Defense came up big for Charlotte, only allowing the Mavs to put up 18 points in the third and fourth quarters while forcing 19 turnovers for the game… The Cats found ways to make up for 3-of-20 (15.0 percent) shooting from 3-point territory and going 18 of 28 (64.3 percent) from the charity stripe.

BOBCATS PLAYER OF THE GAME
Kemba Walker led the Bobcats in scoring with 26 points, seven assists, six rebounds and a franchise-high-tying eight steals. Walker kept the Bobcats in the game early scoring 17 of his points in the first half and continued to make big plays for the Cats by grabbing five steals in the second half.

BOBCATS TOP RESERVE
Ramon Sessions once again comes up big late in the game for Charlotte. Sessions scored 10 of his 12 points during the fourth quarter and overtime, including clutch free throws with six seconds left to secure the win.

MAVERICKS PLAYER OF THE GAME
Vince Carter scored 19 points backed by 5-of-8 shooting from behind the arc. Carter came off the bench and provided the Mavs with a few big-time plays to keep them in the game. He also added five rebounds, two assists and three steals.

INSIDE THE LOCKER ROOM
"He’s more tenacious with his on-ball defense. He’s top three in deflections, hands on balls and stuff like that. Offensively, just being fearless and getting to the rim. He and (Ramon) Sessions made key buckets at the rim. I think just his temperament and him being like Cam Newton, a quarterback, finding his voice, running things, taking responsibility for our playbook and calling certain things instead of me calling them, that’s all in his development."
- Bobcats Head Coach Mike Dunlap on on Kemba Walker

"The crowd was great. They were a huge part of this win. We really felt their energy. They helped us, especially coming down the stretch. Hopefully we can keep bringing those guys to the game and they are enjoying it."
- Bobcats Guard Kemba Walker on the crowd

GAME NOTES
Charlotte’s win was the first against the Mavericks in franchise history. The Bobcats entered the game 0-16 all-time against Dallas – the only team the Cats had yet to defeat in the NBA… Rookie Jeffery Taylor started for the third time in a row and had a solid game (eight points, six rebounds, two steals and two blocks) in 32 minutes, doubling the 15.3 minutes he was averaging previously… The Bobcats tallied 21 offensive rebounds to the Mavs eight and outscored the Mavs in the paint, 52-24… Byron Mullens attacked the boards, grabbing 14 rebounds to go with his seven points… Kemba Walker had a breakaway dunk for the second-straight game.
