MKG Reaches Out
THE RESULT
The Bobcats battled with the Kings down to the wire but could not close out the game in a 97-93 loss to the Sacramento Kings on January 19 at Time Warner Cable Arena®. Kemba Walker recorded his second double-double of the season with 14 points and a game-high 10 assists.

TURNING POINTS
The game was a toss-up heading into the fourth quarter…Gerald Henderson scored on a layup to give the Bobcats a two-point lead with 3:20 seconds remaining before Tyreke Evans knocked down a pair of free throws, leading to a 6-0 run by the Sacramento Kings… Ramon Sessions converted a basket and the free throw bringing the Bobcats to within one with 40 seconds left. Isaiah Thomas drew a foul and knocked down both of his free throws to give the Kings a three-point lead with 18.4 seconds on the clock… Kemba Walker had a nice look for a chance to tie the game but couldn’t get the 3-pointer to fall.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
The Bobcats displayed an aggressive style of play on the offensive end leading them to 38 free throw attempts. However, Charlotte was only able to convert on 68.4 percent (26-for-38) of its freebies while Sacramento hit on 85.7 percent (18-for-21). The 12 missed free throws were the key stat leading to the Bobcats loss… The Cats showed a balance scoring attack with five players finishing in double figures and finished with 20 assists on 31 made field goals… The up-tempo style of play was in favor of the Bobcats as they outscored the Kings 21-10 on fastbreak points… The Bobcats bench outscored the Kings bench, 48-34.

GAME NOTES
Five Bobcats scored in double figures, including Ramon Sessions (16), Gerald Henderson (15), Kemba Walker (14), Ben Gordon (12) and Hakim Warrick (12)…Brendan Haywood had a strong outing off the bench for the Bobcats, scoring nine points, adding eight rebounds and a season-high five blocks…Jeff Adrien continues to provide a spark off the bench, finishing with nine points, four rebounds and a block…Byron Mullens (ankle) was inactive for the Cats.
