What does second-year forward Brandon Bass do when he’s not playing basketball? Hornets.com sat down with the Louisiana State product to find out more about his interests away from the game of hoops.

Favorite type of music: Rap.

Favorite rappers: Boosie, Jay-Z, Lil’ Wayne, Young Jeezy.

Favorite TV show: 106 and Park’s “Freestyle Friday.”

Reality TV thoughts: “You know what? [laughs] I don’t really like reality TV, but that ‘Flavor of Love’ on VH1 is pretty funny.”

Favorite movies of all time: Coming to America, Gladiator.

Funniest movie ever seen: “Probably a stand-up comedy by Eddie Murphy, or something by Martin (Lawrence). Maybe (Lawrence’s stand-up comedy show), Runteldat.”

Time spent online per day: “Probably a couple minutes.”

Favorite non-basketball Web site: “Cake and Ice Cream.  It’s a hip-hop website.” (cakeandice-cream.blogspot.com)

Football or baseball? Football.

What he’d be doing if he weren’t an NBA player: “I would be in the studio, (recording music).”

Favorite athlete as a kid: Michael Jordan.

Best friends on other NBA teams: Chicago rookie forward Tyrus Thomas, also a former LSU Tigers standout.

First job: Basketball.
