October 17, 2005

Time Warner Cable and the Bobcats have reached an agreement to telecast 50 Bobcats games on Time Warner Cable systems throughout North and South Carolina. The games will air on News 14 Carolina on the Charlotte and Raleigh systems, and on a soon to be announced expanded basic channel on the Greensboro system and the digital sports tier throughout South Carolina.

“News 14 Carolina is the perfect fit for Bobcats games as we continue to provide unparalleled local programming to the region,” said Carol Hevey, executive vice president, Time Warner Cable. “We are pleased to extend our telecast relationship with the Bobcats as the majority of their games will now be available to all Time Warner Cable customers in the region.”

“We are very excited about our new partnership with Time Warner Cable and the wide distribution that Bobcats games will receive in the Carolinas,” said Ed Tapscott, president and chief operating officer of the Charlotte Bobcats organization. “This is a venture that will benefit our fans, who will have more opportunity than ever before to catch the Bobcats on TV.”

A total of 65 Bobcats games will be telecast during 2005-06 season, including 15 over-the-air games on the team’s over-the-air flagship, WJZY UPN 46 and throughout North and South Carolina on the Bobcats Television Network. The total number of game telecasts will vary in markets outside of Charlotte. Further details on Bobcats telecasts and a season-long schedule will be released soon.
