TIPS OFF REGULAR SEASON AT THE HIVE

Home opener features Halloween theme; special entertainment from local artists

The Hornets will take on the Sacramento Kings during their regular season home opener on Friday, Oct. 30 at 7 p.m. at the New Orleans Arena for Opening Night Powered by Toyota. Tickets for the game are still available at Hornets.com or all TicketMaster outlets.

Fans are encouraged to arrive early for Halloween at the Hive and all fans are encouraged to wear their Halloween costume and enter the costume contest for cash prizes. Zatarain’s Buzz Fest pre-game block party tips off early at 5 p.m. and will feature live music by Chee Weez, special Halloween decorations and effects, $1 beer and interactive fun for the entire family. Fans are also encouraged to be in their seats early for a special opening version of player introductions by the Southern University Marching Band.

“The entire Hornets family is excited to host our home opener and tip-off what promises to be a thrilling regular season,” said Hornets Owner George Shinn. “We have the No. 1-rated game entertainment in the league, and our fans will not be disappointed with the exciting elements we have planned for Opening Night Powered by Toyota.”

Every fan in attendance will receive a commemorative Opening Night T-shirt courtesy of Toyota. The invocation will be delivered by Archbishop Gregory Aymond from the New Orleans Archdiocese and the National Anthem will be performed by New Orleans’ own jazz sensation Jeremy Davenport. The Southern University Marching Band will perform during player introductions and will provide the halftime entertainment.
