THE RESULT
Behind Al Jefferson’s 28th double-double this season (26 points, 10 rebounds), the Cats picked up a big 98-85 road win over the Wizards on March 12 in Washington, snapping their four-game road skid. Kemba Walker added 16 points and five assists and Gerald Henderson (13 points) returned to the starting lineup after missing five games.

TURNING POINTS
In a back-and-forth game which the Wizards controlled most of the way; the Bobcats finally put it together in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Wizards, 29-19. With the game tied at 78 with 6:24 remaining, Josh McRoberts hit one of two free throws to give the Cats the lead for good. From there, Charlotte went on a 16-7 run to close out the quarter and secure the tough victory.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
The Cats turned in an all-around strong effort in this one and it showed in the stats. Although Washington faired better from behind the arc (36.0 percent) then the Cats, it was Charlotte’s percentages from the field overall and the free throw line that made the difference. The Cats shot a respectable 48.7 percent on their field goals and went 17-for-22 from the free-throw line (77.3 percent), both better than the Wizards totals. The Cats have now shot more free throws than their opponent in 27 of their 31 victories this season… Charlotte outplayed the jumpshooting Wizards down low, outscoring Washington, 44-32, in the paint and outrebounding them, 44-37… Charlotte has continued to show its ability to convert on the fast break, leading the Wizards 11-2 in fastbreak points… Washington gave up the ball 14 times compared to just 11 for Charlotte. The Cats were able to capitalize on Washington’s mistakes for 16 points.

WIZARDS PLAYER OF THE GAME
John Wall came out of the gate hot, scoring 14 points in the first quarter, but he cooled off as the game progressed. He posted a team-high 23 points and added four assists in 34 minutes in the loss.

GAME NOTES
The Cats have notched 13 road victories this season and equaled the single-season franchise high… Charlotte has now knotted the season-series with Washington with each team winning one. The Cats and Wizards meet two more times this season… Al Jefferson has now finished with at least 20 points and 10 rebounds 19 times this season, which ties him with Gerald Wallace in 2009-10 for the most in a season in franchise history… Michael Kidd-Gilchrist impressed as he tied a season-high in rebounds, ripping down 12 and adding 10 points for his first double-double of the season. MKG also hauled in 12 rebounds Feb. 8 against the San Antonio Spurs… Chris Douglas-Roberts was back on the bench with Henderson’s return and finished with 10 points. He has posted double figures in five of his last six games… The Cats held the Wizards to just 85 points, and have now held their opponent under 100 points in 42 of their 65 games this season – the third-most in the NBA.
