Tryouts for the 2005-06 New Orleans/Oklahoma City Honeybees Dance Team will be held on Sunday, October 9 at the Cox Business Services Convention Center in Oklahoma City.

Registration will begin at 8:00 a.m., with tryouts beginning promptly at 9:00 a.m. (NOTE: Auditions will begin at 9 a.m. SHARP. No one will be allowed in the building after that) Applicants must be 18 years of age or older by October 9, 2005 (NO EXCEPTIONS) with a high school diploma in order to audition.

Applicants in top physical condition are preferred. Appropriate dance attire is required which consists of:

A black half top that shows midriff

Black shorts or trunks (no pants)

Dance or athletic sneakers

Flesh colored tights

"Performance Ready" hair and make-up (no ponytails).

Applicants must also bring:

A professional resume, including all dance experience (Minimum of 5 years dance experience preferred)

A recent head shot (4x6 or larger preferred; Photo will not be returned)

A valid photo ID

A copy of their high school diploma

In addition, bringing a lunch/drink is suggested.

There are spots open on the team for dancers that have showmanship, energy, personality, professionalism and maturity to go along with great dance style and technique. The Honeybees are also looking for dancers committed to the job, their physical fitness and personal appearance.

The Honeybees job commitment includes:

Having a flexible schedule for rehearsals (which usually occur twice a week), games (27+ on weekdays and weekends) and promotional appearances. Standard weeks usually require at least a 12-hour commitment (it could be more based on the schedule).

Dancers must be at home games 2.5 to 3 hours prior to tipoff for pregame rehearsals.

Each dancer will be required to meet a minimum number of charity and sponsor appearances throughout the season.

Dancers must have a reliable means of transportation.

Dancers are responsible for maintaining their uniforms, pom-poms, warm-ups, practice wear, shoes, etc.
