Auditions begin at 10:30 a.m. and last until 5:00 p.m.

• Must be at least 19 years of age prior to October 1, 2004.
• Must have graduated from high school or received a G.E.D.
• Must have a full-time job or currently enrolled and attending a college or university full-time.
• Bring a current photo (any size).
• Bring resume (if applicable).
• Bring a valid ID.
• Must be able to attend both Day 1 and Day 2.
• Finalists will go through one week of rehearsal and an interview process.

• Two to three times a week from July 2004 - May 2005 (NBA schedule will dictate).
• Any dancer missing a rehearsal prior to a home game will not be allowed to perform at that game.
• Dancers not able to commit to rehearsals and games are asked not to audition.

• Each dancer is required to participate in a minimum number of charity and sponsor appearances throughout the season.
• Dancers must be present at all home games 2 1/2 hours prior to tipoff for pregame rehearsals.
• Dancers will participate at all Bobcats home games, including preseason and playoffs.
• Dancers must be able to attend all scheduled Charlotte Bobcats events and promotions.
• Dancers will be responsible for maintaining all uniforms, poms, warm-ups and costumes.
• Any dancer missing multiple games is subject to dismissal from the squad.

• Wear dance friendly shoes (Dance sneakers or regular sneakers recommended).
• Wear a midriff top, shorts and flesh tone stockings.
• Failure to wear recommended attire may result in elimination.
• NO THONGS or bikini tops will be permitted.
• Make sure your outfit is comfortable and stays on you.
• Bring an extra outfit just in case something happens or if someone has your outfit on.
• Always be prepared (i.e. knee pads, choice of footwear or a variety of hair clips).
• Bring makeup and hair products for touch up.
• Be prepared for a long day, bring snacks and water.
• There will be a minimum of two dance rounds with a different style and difficulty level.
• Dancers will be eliminated after each round.
• Dancers will be required to submit a photo that will not be returned (Make sure it is a good one).
• Finalists will also have Polaroid pictures taken so be sure to look your best.


How should I prepare for the tryouts?
• Interested participants are strongly encouraged to have a work out regimen that includes some physical activity at least three or four times a week.
• Enroll in an adult dance class, funk aerobics class or Pilates. You want to be able to pick up choreography and gain a sense of rhythm.
• Basic dance skills should be updated as well (ballet, jazz and modern).

What are your height and weight requirements?
• We do not have any height requirements.
• While a specific weight is not taken into account, physical fitness and overall body fat percentage will be considered.
• Team members are required to be in excellent health.

Are there preparatory clinics that I can attend?
• This year, the Bobcats will not hold their own preparatory clinic.
• Please attend select clinics and any Professional Cheerleading and Dance Workshops.
• One Professional Workshop is “The Real Deal” at on Sunday, May 16, 2004 in Charlotte. There will be dance professionals on hand to answer any additional questions you may have.

Is there an age limit?
• Dancers must be at least 19 years of age.
• Dancers must be a high school graduate or have a G.E.D.
• Dancers must have a full-time job or be a college or professional student.

Can my family come and watch auditions?
• Auditions held on Day 1 are closed to the public.
• Auditions held on Day 2 are open to the public, your family and friends are encouraged to attend.

What will the judges look for at auditions?
• Appearance and showmanship
• Dance ability and accuracy in performing.
• Poise and personality.

Will there be other auditions throughout the year?
• The Bobcats will also hold an interactive squad audition shortly after the dance team auditions.
• Anything can happen within the year, additional dance team auditions may be held later in the year.

What should I expect from the interview process?
• Be prepared to introduce yourself and answer a few key questions.
• Be familiar with Bobcats milestones, the NBA and general information.

How should I wear my hair and fix my make-up?
• Your hair and make-up should be performance quality.
• A hairstyle that is up-to-date and current and one that compliments your features.
• Auditions are not like a dance class; your make-up should be glamorous.

Will there be compensation?
• Dancers are paid for home games, promotions and rehearsals.

What is the time commitment and is this a full-time job?
• This is a part-time job that can have full-time hours during the season.
• Dancers must have a full-time job, be enrolled in college or be a professional student.
• Dancers not able to commit to rehearsals and games are asked not to audition.
