THE RESULT
Al Jefferson helped the Cats bounce back from a late game loss against Philadelphia with his 15th double-double of the season, finishing with 30 points and 16 rebounds in a 111-101 win over the Magic on Jan. 17 in Orlando. Kemba Walker also recorded a double-double for Charlotte, chipping in 19 points and 10 assists in the victory.

TURNING POINTS
The Bobcats took a commanding lead in the first quarter, going up by as many as 18 points, but the Magic were able to storm back and take a 53-52, halftime lead. Charlotte went on a 14-4 run in the third led by Al Jefferson to put the Cats back on top. The Magic wouldn’t go down quietly and traded baskets to start the fourth and narrowed the deficit to six, but a series of Bobcat free-throws and timely Jefferson field goals helped the Bobcats pull away for good.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
The Cats saw five players score double figures – Al Jefferson (26), Kemba Walker (19), Gerald Henderson (17), Josh McRoberts (17) and Ramon Sessions (10). The Magic had all five of their starters finish in double-figures… Orlando started the game 1-for-9 from the field, but finished shooting 46.3 percent (38-for-82) from the field, while Charlotte shot 52.7 percent (39-for-74) … The Cats shot efficiently from three, connecting on seven of 15 attempts. The Magic converted 40 percent (10-of-25) of their treys…The Cats focused on an inside game, outscoring the Magic 38-24 in the paint…The Cats were able to move the ball well all game, dishing out 25 assists – the team is 4-1 this season when they do so. With 35 attempted free throws, the Cats have attempted more free throws then their opponent in 16 of their 17 victories this season.

After missing three-straight games with a strained foot, Aaron Afflalo put forth a strong effort. He led the way for the Magic with 24 points on 7-of-14 shooting, four rebounds and two assists.

GAME NOTES
The Cats extended the Magic’s current losing streak to 10-straight games and are now 13-25 all-time against the Magic…Charlotte’s record is now 9-2 when the team scores over 100 points... Josh McRoberts tied a career-high for three-pointers made in a game with five… Al Jefferson finished in double figures for the 26th time in his last 28 games, including 11 games of 20 points or more. Jefferson has posted nine double-doubles in his last 16 games and 15 in his last 25 contests… Kemba Walker has scored in double figures in 37 of 41 contests this season… Gerald Henderson’s shooting struggles continued as he shot 3-for-11 from the field. He finished with 17 points, connecting on 11 of 12 free throws…. After shooting 52.7 percent, the Cats improved their record to 4-0 when they shoot over 50 percent from the field.
