Charlotte Bobcats President of Basketball Operations Rod Higgins announced today that the team has signed first-round draft pick Cody Zeller. A 7-0 forward, the Bobcats selected Zeller with the fourth overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft.

An early entry candidate in the 2013 Draft, Zeller spent two seasons at Indiana University, where he averaged 16.1 points, 7.3 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.2 blocks in 72 total games and became the school’s all-time leader in career field goal percentage (.591). During Zeller’s two seasons, the Hoosiers went to to back-to-back NCAA Sweet 16s for the first time since 1994 and won their first outright Big Ten regular season championship since 1993.

Zeller was named First Team All-Big Ten and earned Second Team All-America honors from the AP, USBWA and NABC as a sophomore in 2012-13. He led the Hoosiers in scoring (16.5), rebounding (8.1) and blocks (1.3), ranking second in the Big Ten in rebounding, fourth in scoring and fifth in field goal percentage (.562).

As a freshman in 2011-12, Zeller was named Big Ten Freshman of the Year, Second Team All-Big Ten and Honorable Mention AP All-American, while also being named a Freshman All-American by Yahoo, Sporting News and the USBWA.
