CONTEST RULES & REGULATIONS

1. To Enter: Sweepstakes begins on Thursday, August 7, 2008 and ends at 5:00 PM CDT on Saturday, August 23, 2008 or immediately following Team USA’s elimination from Men’s Basketball competition, whichever occurs first. You may enter by visiting Hornets.com and completing the online entry form or by sending a 3x5 postcard with name, address, phone number, email and age to the New Orleans Hornets, Attn: “Hornets Support Team USA Sweepstakes”, 1250 Poydras, Suite 19, New Orleans, LA 70113. All entries, regardless of method of entry, must be received by 5:00 PM Central Time on August 23, 2008 or prior to Team USA’s elimination from Men’s Basketball competition. Entry must be complete to be eligible. Limit one entry per person/email address per day. Automated entries are prohibited.
2. Prize: One prize will be awarded after each Team USA win between August 8, 2008 and August 25, 2008. If Team USA loses a game, no prize will be awarded after that game. The complete prize schedule is as follows:

All prizes will expire on December 31, 2008. Approximate retail value of the prizes is as follows:

3. Random Drawings: After each Team USA win, one winner will be randomly selected from among all eligible entries. Each random drawing will include all eligible contest entries, so it is possible for one person to win multiple prizes. Odds of winning are dependent upon the number of eligible entries received.
4. General Rules: Prizes are non-transferable/no substitution allowed. NBA Properties, Inc., the National Basketball Association and its member teams (collectively “NBA Entities”) assume no responsibility/liability for damages, losses or injury resulting from acceptance or use of the prizes. Taxes related to the prizes are the responsibility of the winner. Return of prize notification as undeliverable may result in disqualification and alternate selection. Acceptance of prizes constitutes permission to use winner’s name and likeness for promotional purposes without further compensation except where prohibited by law. By entering, entrant accepts and agrees to be bound by these official rules and the decisions of the administrator. Internet entries will be declared made by the authorized account holder of the e-mail address submitted at the time of entry. "Authorized account holder" is defined as the natural person who is assigned to an email address by an Internet Access provider, on-line service provider, or other organization (e.g., business, educational institution etc.) that is responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the submitted email address. The Administrator reserve the right at their sole discretion to disqualify any individual that tampers or attempts to tamper with the entry process or the operation of the sweepstakes or website; violates the Official Rules; or acts in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner, or with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY AN ENTRANT OR ANY OTHER INDIVIDUAL TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEBSITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE SWEEPSTAKES IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH INDIVIDUAL TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. The administrator is not responsible for technical, hardware or software malfunctions, telephone failures of any kind, lost or unavailable network connections, or failed, incorrect, inaccurate, incomplete, garbled or delayed electronic communications whether caused by the sender or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in this sweepstakes which may limit the ability to participate or by any human error which may occur in the processing of the entries in this sweepstakes. The administrator reserves the right at their sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the promotion. By entering, entrants agree that all issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules and participant’s rights and obligations shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of Louisiana and are subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Except where prohibited, entry and acceptance of the prize constitutes irrevocable permission for the New Orleans Hornets to use my name, voice and likeness in any media, worldwide, forever and without compensation.
Each participant agrees to follow these Official Rules and hold harmless and indemnify the New Orleans Hornets and/or the National Basketball Association and its Member Teams, NBA Properties, Inc., and each of their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, officers, governors, employees and agents against any and all liability, damages and causes of action (however named or described) with respect to or arising out of the participant’s participation in the contest.
5. Eligibility: Sweepstakes open to all persons residing within 75 miles of the New Orleans Arena (New Orleans, LA, 70113), 18 years of age or older as of their date of entry, except employees and their families of the New Orleans Hornets, NBA Entities, their affiliates and subsidiaries. This offer is void where prohibited and subject to all federal, state and local laws.
