Hornets Sign Jannero Pargo

Veteran Guard Brings Depth to Backcourt

OKLAHOMA CITY - The New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets announced today that they have signed free agent guard Jannero Pargo.

“Jannero is a proven NBA player and he’ll help strengthen our backcourt with his ability to play both guard positions and his shooting range,” said Hornets General Manager Jeff Bower. “We had him targeted for this role with us from the start of the summer and we’re thrilled that we were able to make it happen.”

Pargo (6-1, 175) is a four-year NBA veteran, holding career averages of 5.0 points and 1.8 assists in 154 games while a member of the Chicago Bulls, Los Angeles Lakers and Toronto Raptors.

The undrafted product of the University of Arkansas appeared in a career-high 57 games and played in a career-best 645 minutes (11.3 mpg) for the Chicago Bulls during the 2005-06 season, averaging 4.8 points, 1.6 assists and 1.1 rebounds. He also shot a career-best .379 from the three-point line (39-103 3FG).
