| Friday, February 27, 2009 Final Score: New Orleans 95, Milwaukee 94 Hornets Post Game Quotes
On the game: “I was not happy after the game. I am happy with the W (win), but I am not happy with the way we played our last few minutes. We were always taught that if your foot is on their throat, push it. Don’t let it up. They stayed aggressive and pushed some shots. We were pretty passive. Once a team like that gets rolling, it is hard to shut the water off. They never quit, they just kept fighting.” On Tyson Chandler: “I am glad I didn’t listen to my assistants. They wanted to take Tyson out and put Posey in to have another shooter. I wanted Tyson on the board, and he was right there to tip it in."
On the game winning shot: “I knew David (West) was on the elbow. I knew that he would have a mismatch and I knew he would have a clean shot. I was just thinking if it comes off make sure you get the rebound. I had the opportunity to get a hand on it and get a big tip.” On the game: “You never want to blow a lead like that. You kind of want to close out the game. You want to continue to be aggressive. I thought we kind of laid back, and that was why they were able to come back in the game. But we got a W, and I’d rather be happy in the locker room with a W then sad about a loss. ”
On the end of the game: “A win is a win, but we know better. We’ve got to learn to close out games. It’s a great win for us, but we should know better.”
On the end of the game: “We put ourselves in that situation. We were playing the game not to lose, and made it closer than it was. We were in the bonus since the nine minute mark, we stopped playing defense, and that gave those guys confidence. They made big plays down the stretch, and they made shots to get them back in the game.” Bucks Post Game Quotes
On the game: “We had a poor defensive game for most of the game but the last three minutes of the game we got a couple stops and we made a couple three’s we made it an interesting game. We needed those three’s without those we wouldn’t have had a chance at all.” On the defense: “The things that have been bothering us in the last two or three weeks is our rebounding. You were able to see that in the last play of the game we just looked at it, they kind of shoved us right under the basket and were able to tip the ball in.” “They outplayed us, it’s fair to say. We were able to stay close enough, if we were able to make one run we might’ve had a chance and we made it even though it was awfully late in the game.”
On the rally in the 4th quarter: “It was a good rally. That one hurt. To fight back like that and then Tyson Chandler made a heck of a play at the end of the game. It hurts.” On the 3 point shooting in the 4th quarter: “A lot of guys stepped up. Charlie Bell hit 3 of them and Damon (Jones) hit one. It was an unbelievable comeback for us. In the NBA you just never know. For us to lose like that it hurts. It was just a great tip in.”
On the game: “You just can’t stop playing. Anything can happen. Guys can make a couple of 3’s and get some stops and then you’re back in the ball game. It shows a lot about the character of our team that we didn’t give up and kept fighting after not playing as well as we could have played.” |
