OKLAHOMA CITY - The New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets announced today that they have waived guard Arvydas Macijauskas.
“Arvydas’ role last season was not what either he or the organization envisioned when we signed him as a free agent, and both parties agreed that this was a mutually beneficial decision,” said Hornets General Manager Jeff Bower. “We now have the flexibility to continue to improve our team this offseason and he is free to pursue a playing career in Europe.”
Macijauskas was signed as a free agent on August 2, 2005 and averaged 2.3 points and 0.3 assists while shooting .341 (14-41) from the field in 19 games for the Hornets last season. He missed 22 games on the inactive list and 41 games due to coach’s decision.
