Hornets.com caught up with Boston rookie Glen Davis, a former star forward for the LSU Tigers, prior to Saturday’s game in the New Orleans Arena:
Hornets.com: Coming in to the league as a rookie, you have had the opportunity to play for the team with the best record in the NBA. How has this experience been for you?
Davis: It feels really good being a part of this team. I am getting a lot of experience and a lot of veteran leadership. It’s just unbelievable man, more than I could have ever expected.
Hornets.com: How has playing with All-Star veterans like Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen and Paul Pierce impacted your game?
Davis: They have helped me learn how to play the game. How to go hard every day. Making sure I go as hard as I can every day is the most important thing that I have learned.
Hornets.com: With the NCAA Tournament getting under way, do you miss the thrill of college basketball and March Madness?
Davis: March Madness is March Madness. You are always going to love March Madness. It is what is man, and you’ve got to love it. So I definitely miss it, but I’m getting paid to play basketball now.
Hornets.com: Being that you are a Baton Rouge native and LSU alum, how does it feel to come back and play in Louisiana again?
Davis: It feels great. I love it here.
