HORNETS LAUNCH CP3MVP.COM
Interactive website allows fans to campaign for Chris Paul to earn NBA’s highest honor
March 19, 2008
The New Orleans Hornets launched CP3MVP.com today, a website that will serve as part of the organization’s Most Valuable Player campaign for guard Chris Paul.
CP3MVP.com will be an interactive site where visitors can link to the CP3 for MVP Myspace page also created to promote Paul as this year’s MVP. From there, fans can then upload short videos explaining why they think Paul should be named the NBA’s Most Valuable Player.
The winner will receive two floor seats to the Hornets match-up with the L.A. Clippers on Tuesday, April 15, as well as limo service to and from the game, and a meet-and-greet with Chris Paul. In addition, the winning video will be featured on the BuzzVision that evening and on Hornets.com following the game. The winner will also be featured in the first Hornets Playoff Gametime program (if applicable) and appear as a feature in Hornets Bee-Mail.
Paul is currently averaging 21.6 points and 11.3 assists through 64 games and is looking to become the first player in over 15 years to average 20+ points and 10+ assists per game. He is first in the league at 2.7 steals per game and is tied for first with 11.3 assists per contest. With 42 double-doubles on the year, Paul ranks fifth in the NBA, second among point guards. He has scored 40 or more points in three games this season, while registering 20+ points and 15+ assists in nine contests this season, an NBA-best.
