Hornets Post Game Quotes

Head Coach Jeff Bower
On the game:
“Going into the game, we felt it was a game where we’d really have to have poise because of their style of play, because of how individualistic their style of attack is and because the offensive talent they possess. We knew we were going to be forced to manage the game. We wanted to keep the pressure up and keep going.”

On their defense tonight:
“We knew about their ability to get to the basket on drives. We did a much better job in the second half but we still gave away to many possessions in the first half; we gave up penetrations and drives without any resistance. We had late rotations, late helps – part of that is due to their spacing and how they use their offense.”

On the upcoming month:
“We have a lot of games, a lot of every-other-day games and stretches. It’s a time where we can get into a really good basketball rhythm. I’m really pleased with the last two days of practice and what we showed in the past two practices into tonight’s game. We saw it in certain areas and other areas we have to continue to pound away.”

Hornets Guard Chris Paul
On win tonight against Golden State:
“It is really good for us. Now we have another opportunity to get back to .500. It may be our third or fourth opportunity at that. Not only do we get that chance but it is on the road again and get a chance to prove ourselves. We just tried to take advantage of them inside; that is why we tried to get the ball to D West, and Emeka and those guys. We are at our best when we are in transition and with a team like that you get the opportunity on long shots.”

Hornets Guard Bobby Brown
On guarding Monta Ellis:
“He is fast and always on attack mode and he has the green light to do whatever he wants, it’s his team.”

On Chicago and a tough January:
“It is going to be tough. The NBA is a tough business, going on the road and going into hostile cities, like snow. We are all going to come together and try to make things happen.”

Warriors Post Game Quotes

Head Coach Don Nelson
On the game:
“We played a great game. We didn’t do everything right all the time, we didn’t make every shot, get every stop, but we played great. I can’t ask for anything more out of this team. They gave everything they had on a back-to-back. I’m really proud of them. I thought the game was there for us if we just could have made shots down the stretch. We made enough to stay in it, but unfortunately it wasn’t quite enough. But I wouldn’t play it any different.”

On Monta Ellis:
“I asked a lot of him on a back-to-back playing 48 minutes. It just seemed like one of these games that if I didn’t have the ball in his hands, we just couldn’t score. So he had to be an integral part of everything we were doing offensively. When he had the ball, we were really good, and when he didn’t, we weren’t so good offensively.”

Warriors Center Anthony Randolph
On the game:
“We’re at the point in the season where we’re playing on the road, against a pretty good team, and that should be motivation in itself. We’ve just got to start winning these games. We need to make plays and we need to make stops. We need to bounce back Saturday.”
