| Wednesday, April 7, 2010 Final Score: Charlotte 104, New Orleans 103 Hornets Post Game Quotes
On him being ejected: “There were some fouls that weren’t being called that was putting us at a disadvantage. I thought that was having an impact on the game. I let my opinion be known.” On the game: “Our whole attack changed in the second half, once we started getting back to what we were doing in the first quarter. We moved the ball very well when the game first started, we stopped doing that in the second quarter. The second half was outstanding. We were using the coverage to our advantage and made some great shots. We had such a large margin to come back from, we almost needed to play perfect for the rest of the game. Charlotte got the stop when D.J. Augustin hit that big shot. I will give him credit for that; that was a good shot. Tonight we played hard and well, we didn’t do that last game against New Jersey.”
On the second half: “We came out with a lot more intensity. We wanted it more and it showed. We were lackadaisical and they were getting pretty much anything they wanted. When we picked up the intensity we had a lot of easy transition points, but in the end, unfortunately, we came up short." On the last play: “We were just trying to get an easy basket, either me or David West. The ball was in my hand and I tried to make an aggressive play to the basket and I came up short.”
On the game: “I thought our energy was good enough, got us back up six or seven. We just had a couple plays were we had turnovers late and didn’t get what we wanted. I thought we did a good job fighting and staying competitive.” Bobcats Post Game Quotes
On the game: “It was some of the best of times and the worst of times (in the second half). It’s a miracle (that we won). I’m not a happy man. Give them (the Hornets) credit. If I was in that locker room, I would be pretty proud of that group. We just don’t understand. I don’t know what it’s going to take (for us to realize that we have to put teams away). It’s a mirror of the Atlanta game. The only difference is that we were at home for the Atlanta game. We’re very fortunate that we got a win.” On reaching the playoffs with the win: “I’m happy for our fans. I’m happy for our franchise. I’m a coach. I always say celebrate the wins because the losses hurt. That (performance tonight) hurt. I didn’t want to put Gerald (Wallace) back in the game. We just can’t let stuff on the court effect the way we play.” On the Hornets: “We can learn a lot from that team (the Hornets). I’ve been reading the papers that people have been critical of their effort. You can lose to anybody in this league. Our team doesn’t have to tell you that. If I was in their locker room, I would be proud of them. With that said, I’m proud of our team. From where we were to what we’ve accomplished. I’m thrilled for Raymond (Felton) and Gerald (Wallace). They’ve been here the longest. It hasn’t been easy.”
On the win: “They made a great ballgame out of it. At the end of the day, it shows the heart of this team. We got stops (at the end) when we needed to get stops. We came out ahead in an ugly, ugly win.”
On the win: “I was just excited to be home. A lot of family members and fans were here supporting me. We needed this win. We need every win coming up. We just went out and played hard tonight.” On the Hornets comeback in the third quarter: “We shouldn’t have let it get to that point. We should have kept them down. That kind of stuff happens….We came out with a win.” On his winning shot: “I had a good feeling that it was going in. I hit a couple before that. I just had a good feeling…It felt good. When I released it, it looked good, it felt good. I’m glad it went in.” |
