What’s up Hornets fans? I hope everyone had a happy and safe holiday season and New Year’s celebration. It’s been a little while since my last post, and a lot has gone on, so let’s get right into it.

BRINGING THE INTENSITY
We’ve had some big wins over the Spurs, Lakers, Mavericks, Rockets and the Pistons, but we’ve also had some tough loses to Orlando, Cleveland and New York. It’s a great feeling when you come out with that intensity that helps you get those big wins against teams in our division, or the game in L.A., but we need to be able to come out with that same intensity every night. We need to take a step back and think about how we won those big games, and always bring whatever we brought to the table that night to when we’re playing a sub-.500 team. You can’t sleep on any team in this league, and we need to remember to bring the same intensity that we would in a Game 7 to every game of the regular season.

INJURIES HIT
The injury bug has hit us quite hard recently. David has been out the past week with back spasms, and we lost both Hilton and Tyson in our game last Monday against the Pacers. Guys will get hurt and when they do we just have to move forward and adapt to the situation at hand. Coach and I talked and my role is going to stay the same while we’re shorthanded. I’m just going to come off the bench, try to execute our plan on the offensive end, and stick to our game plan defensively. Coach might draw up a play or two for me. It will all depend on the flow of the game. I’ll just wait for those opportunities and do the best I can.

A.D.
I was very excited when we made the trade for Antonio Daniels. He came in and already knew the system that we were running from his time in Washington (Antonio’s coach in Washington, Eddie Jordan, was an assistant under Byron Scott in New Jersey). He’s a competitor, and I know that just from watching him play and I know what he brings to the team. He also brings a lot of leadership, so I was very excited. The first day here he just jumped right into the offense, it was great.

BUCKEYE STATE VISIT
We recently played the Cavs in Cleveland, so for me being an Ohio native, it was a homecoming. I was fortunate enough to be able to see a lot of my family and spend some time with them, but that was about it. Being on a road trip you only have so much time, and I also understand that this is a business, and I had a job to do, so I tried to keep it low key. It’s always nice to be able to see your family and friends and play in front of them, but I try to approach every game the same way, so I try to just rest up and lay low.

JUST ANOTHER (BIRTH)DAY
I also just recently celebrated my birthday. My birthday was on Jan. 13, the day we left for our three-game road trip against Dallas, Cleveland and Detroit. I was able to fit a birthday dinner into the hectic travel schedule and a few of the fellas and I went out to eat. It all goes back to understanding that there is a job to do, so there wasn’t a huge birthday bash. To me it’s just another day, I just happen to be a year older, that’s all.

HECTIC SCHEDULE
So we have a very busy couple of weeks before the all-star break. I’m very happy and excited for Chris that he was elected a starter to the All-Star Game. He definitely deserved it. For me, I don’t think I would say that I’m excited about the All-Star break, because sometimes you just want to keep rolling. For every team it’s different, depending on where you’re at in your season, but for me, I would much rather just keep on rolling. It’s hard to just take a few days off after you’ve been going at it so hard for the last five and a half months. I just want to keep working toward that goal of raising a banner in the Hive.

MEMORABLE MLK DAY
So we were able to play against the Pacers last Monday on Martin Luther King Day, and I thought it was great how so many teams around the league paid tribute to him throughout the day. Even though we were in the middle of a game, I could hear the clips of the “I Have a Dream” speech during timeouts, and to be able to honor Dr. King and all that he did in this country is definitely a great thing to be a part of. The next day, Coach Scott gave us the day off, so I was able to catch the Inauguration of President Obama on TV. It was a very historic moment for everyone in this country, and it’s definitely something I’ll never forget as long as I’m alive. It’s one of those moments that you’ll tell your grandkids about.

Alright Hornets fans, that’s all for this edition of Pose Knows, keep cheering us on and keep the questions coming to the mailbag!

Hi, Mr. Posey,
Just wanted to tell you Happy B-day. Stay posted up on those three-pointers.

Posey,
What's up? This is Tiffany King one of the Student Athletic Trainers when you were at Xavier. It is good to see you and Dave on the same team. I have followed both of you since we have all graduated and it is easy this year to only have to watch 1 team play. I am excited I will be there in January to watch you guys play. Have fun and play hard this year!

I strongly believe that the Hornets got a really good team, and am sure that if chemistry ties up then good things will happen. My man is Peja Stojakovic, and I think that this year is his last chance to win a title. Tyson Chadler is a great fellow, and needs to become more aggressive on offense. Chris Paul is just magnificent. Posey brings winning on the team. Go Hornets!!!
Greetings, Axilleas-GREECE

POSEY! Big respect coming from Boston, I'm a huge fan and wanted to thank you for all you did last season bringing the championship back here for the first time since I was 4 months old. You are one of the most dominant players in the NBA and we'll surely miss your presence on the court this season, I know myself and a lot of fans were disappointed to see you go. Thanks again for playing with so much heart you're an inspiration to the game. Good luck with the rest of the season dude.
Mike Campbell, Boston, MA

Hi James,
Just wanted to say I’m so proud of you and I wish you and the honest the best this season. I’m now a Hornets fan now that you’re there. Good luck and may God bless you.
Sincerely Yours, Lisa, Memphis, TN
