Hornets Post Game Quotes

Head Coach Jeff Bower
“The reason why we had the players that we had on the floor in the 4th was because we were trying to match Noah. We were trying to track him and make him give up the ball and we tried to get Emeka to be on him.”

“This is something we will definitely chalk up to experience. Right idea, right play just the result was a little short. The thing that I will most focus onto tonight is the effort in the 4th quarter to come back and get into the game. I think they did a terrific job with that on a night where we weren’t where we wanted to be in our 1st through 3rd quarters. The Bulls played outstanding basketball tonight and we just came up a little short."

Hornets Guard Darren Collison
On the play at the end of the game:
“I was looking to get an easy basket. They did a good job of clogging the lane up, and I tried to pull up for a shot and the ball came out of my hands. There’s definitely no excuse for that play. It’s something we have to execute on, especially at least get a shot attempt on it. Definitely going to lose sleep on that play.”

Hornets Guard Chris Paul
On the play at the end of the game:
“We got the rebound and D.C pushed it up the court, he tried to find an opening and it collapsed on him. It’s a tough loss. We gave ourselves an opportunity to win. We made a few mistakes there at the end. We said going into overtime let’s find a way to win it. We got off to a good start. We went to D. West early, but in the end they found a way to beat us.”

On the win:
“We made some plays down the stretch to close it out. Especially going out on the road, we just really wanted to make sure that we were able to go out there with a good (showing tonight).”

Bulls Post Game Quotes

Head Coach Vinny Del Negro
On the game:
“We battled, our guys didn’t give up, we showed some toughness and just found a way to get us to overtime. In overtime we made some big plays. I’m proud of them for not giving up. We were fortunate that we executed, made some good plays and at the end we attacked. That win was a team effort. We weren’t as sharp tonight as we have been. Chris (Paul) puts a lot of pressure on guys and David West is difficult to defend, but we fought back.”

On their seven road games:
We missed Kirk (Hinrich) the first game, missed John (Salmons) the second and then we became whole. We had several little injuries here and there but a lot of players have been stepping up. Tyrus (Thomas) gave us some good minutes tonight and he stepped up in the Houston game."

Bulls Forward Luol Deng
On the game:
“It’s good for us. When you’re winning, everything is positive. We’re going into games expecting to win. A game like that, if we had lost four in a row, we might have lost it. But the mentality right now is we can win every game. We stuck to our game.”

Bulls Guard Derrick Rose
On the game:
“We’re not surprised at our turnaround. We’re playing good basketball, hanging in there throughout the whole game. We’re sticking with tough teams that are usually over .500. In the fourth quarter there was fatigue. We just had to suck it up, play good defense and give it our all.”
