Hornets Post Game Quotes

Head Coach Jeff Bower
On the game:
“Against a team like the Spurs, when you’re trying to cut it close you need that one more play to keep the momentum going. They’re a team that’s used to playing and recovering. I thought we both would play a spirited game today because we both had off. ”

On the fourth quarter play:
“We had some good runs. Normally you’d think they’d lead to a victory, but the deficit was too much.”

Hornets Guard Darren Collison
On the bench:
“We got the starting lineup to do their job. We’ve got to do our jobs, too, off of the bench. Everybody has a role on this team. For the athletic group, we just go out and play hard with energy.”

Hornets Guard Chris Paul
On if today’s game was decided in the first quarter:
“I think so. Coach just let us know that we outscored them in the second, third, and fourth. Once again, it comes down to us starters. We have to come out with more energy and set the tone.”

On the veteran San Antonio team still playing at the peak of their game:
“If you know basketball, it’s not about your age. It’s about knowing the game and different things like that. Age never has anything to do with how they play the game.”

On what the Spurs did tonight:
“They really kept us in front of them. They never really let us get to the basket. We didn’t get to the line much at all. It’s been the story of us. We’ve got to figure out other ways to win other than just making shots.”

Spurs Post Game Quotes

Head Coach Gregg Popovich
On the game:
“It feels good to go on the road and win a game against a good team and that’s what we did today. They brought it back and we were turning it over; we had four straight turnovers, so you’ve got to go ahead and give them credit for it. ”

On Tony Parker:
“I thought it was great to have him today. He was scoring and finding people and really kept the flow in our offense.”

On the play of Chris Paul:
“Chris is going to be a hall-of-fame player and George Hill did everything he could; I think he did a pretty good job.”

Spurs Forward Tim Duncan
On the game:
“We got to the line a lot and unfortunately we missed a bunch of them. Our aggressiveness was a big difference in the game. DeJuan did a great job on the boards, not giving any second shots, getting easy stuff on the offensive glass and he’s been big for us throughout the season. They made some shots and we relaxed a little bit but that’s something that we have to work on is finishing games."

Spurs Guard Tony Parker
"It’s a great win for us coming off of two tough losses. Now we have a great opportunity to make a little run with six games at home so it was nice to finish our road trip with a win. We wanted to be aggressive and get some easy buckets; early on that helped our confidence. Basically we just kept our lead, played good defense and went to the free throw line."
