Hornets Post Game Quotes

Head Coach Jeff Bower
On the game:
“Many lessons were learned tonight in many ways and that’s what we are going to take from this. We are definitely happy that we won but we, of course, could do better. We will learn from it and will be ready to go against the Wizards.”

On what the team needs to work on:
“The important thing is to look at the things we need to be more effective in, that’s the key. Understand what areas need to change quickly and evaluating what areas need to match our performance with the opposing team and what doesn’t. We want to build consistency over the long haul and that’s what we will be sure to take a look at today. I don’t think we were consistent. We had some strong stretches of course, but I don’t think we were as consistent as we needed to be at this point. We were though strong enough to come out with a win in the game, which is ultimately where we want to be in the end.”

Hornets Center Emeka Okafor
On winning streak:
“We had this stretch were we know we can take advantage of some teams and make sure we just stick to what we do. The chemistry is getting better but we haven’t got there yet, but the key to the game is to stay afloat to peak at the right time”

On record at the arena:
“These games are good for us, we have to make sure we don’t get shaky, we don’t go soft we just stay aggressive.”

Hornets Forward David West
On winning streak at home:
“We just feel comfortable here, especially when we are trying to get in the thick of things and get back into the hunt. You have to be able to win on your home floor; that is the bottom line. ”

Nets Post Game Quotes

Head Coach Kiki Vandeweghe
On the game:
“I think both teams played very hard. We had a chance to win at the end. It’s always disappointing when players don’t finish the game. We’re all disappointed, but this is a very good team, they played very hard, and they’ve won a lot at the end. We have nothing to be ashamed of; you have to give them credit for finishing well. “

On the end of the game:
“We were switching everything. We wanted to get it out of Chris Paul’s hands, he’s good at the end of games. We were aggressively switching. That’s why we had the smalls in there. We gave ourselves a chance to win at the end, I was proud of our guys. This is one of the hottest teams in the NBA at the moment. We played them neck and neck. We came back on them. I was proud of the effort our guys made.”

Nets Center Brook Lopez
On the game:
“We came out and we tried to play really aggressive and try to go at them. There were times when we made runs. We came out tonight and kept fighting to the very end.”

On the three point shooting:
“Personally I was just trying to kick out to guys like C.Lee, Keyon and Jarvis. They’re always able to knock down the jumper, that’s what they’re here to do. It definitely kept us in the game.”

Nets Forward Jarvis Hayes
On the second half:
“It was there. It started with the halftime speech. Coach didn’t come in, and we kind of gave ourselves a little speech. We motivated ourselves to come out and play better in the second half, and we did.”

On the three point shooting:
“It was real big. Courtney and K.D., Courtney had five and K.D. had four. They hit shots and kept us in the game late.”
