BlueCross BlueShield of North Carolina Named Presenting Partner of Oct. 13 and Oct. 23 Games at Time Warner Cable Arena

September 4, 2014 – The Charlotte Hornets today announced their 2014-15 preseason schedule, which is highlighted by the previously-announced regional home game in Greenville, South Carolina, and the team’s annual Cool School Field Trip for middle school students.

The eight-game slate opens on the road against the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday, Oct. 8, and is followed by the regional home game in Greenville against the Washington Wizards on Friday, Oct. 10. Tickets for the regional home game are on sale now starting at $10 and can be purchased at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena and Time Warner Cable Arena box offices, online at hornets.com or via Ticketmaster.

The Hornets will play three preseason home games at Time Warner Cable Arena, hosting the Orlando Magic on Monday, Oct. 13, the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday, Oct. 15, and the Indiana Pacers on Thursday, Oct. 23. The preseason games on Oct. 13 and Oct 23 at Time Warner Cable Arena will be presented by BlueCross BlueShield of North Carolina. The Oct. 15 contest will tip off at 11:00 a.m. as the organization hosts the 10th annual Cool School Field Trip.  The game, which is presented by Jordan Brand, is a reward for middle school students, teachers and administrators from across the Carolinas who display outstanding achievement and character in the classroom.  Every student in attendance will receive a workbook to be completed throughout the course of the game with the help of in-arena messages, clues and interviews. McAlister’s Deli will be the official lunch provider of the annual preseason game and will provide free boxed lunches to all middle school students in attendance.  For the second consecutive year, the theme of the game will be “Too Cool to Bully.”

Tickets for the games against Orlando and Indiana will go on sale Friday, Sept. 12, and can be purchased at the Time Warner Cable Arena box office, online at hornets.com or via Ticketmaster. There will be no tickets sold for the Cool School Field Trip against Detroit.

The road portion of the preseason schedule includes a three-game trip that begins on Friday, Oct. 17, against the Washington Wizards. The Hornets will then play the Chicago Bulls on Sunday, Oct. 19, and finish the road trip against the Atlanta Hawks the next night.
