The Bart’s Bees or Better program recognizes students with a B average (or better). The Hornets, in partnership with Morris Bart, award qualifying students with tickets to Hornets games, backpacks and pencils.

Hornets Outstanding Reader Program honors students that show outstanding effort in reading by recognizing them on-court at halftime during Hornet games.

Hornets Reading Time-outs are personal reading sessions held with small groups of students with Hornets’ players and personalities, local college student-athletes and other community leaders that serve as esteemed storytellers.
“There has been a move towards improving education, but we can’t do it by ourselves. With the Hornets, it helps us to know that people really care about what’s going on in our schools and with our kids.”
